Winning the loyalty of U.S. military and veteran travelers with Veterans Advantage discounts
We are pleased to introduce you to Sabre’s newest partner, Veterans Advantage. Veterans Advantage, a public benefit corporation (PBC), honors and thanks its members for service to the country through travel and shopping benefits that enhance their lifestyles. Veterans Advantage members include U.S. active duty military, veterans, guardsmen and reservists, and their immediate family members.
With over 16 years of experience partnering with leading hotels and top travel industry providers, Veterans Advantage delivers a powerful marketing and technology platform for Sabre hotel partners to attract and retain new customers from its large member base. An exclusive Veterans Advantage discount will create the opportunity to generate new hotel stays and increase loyalty from its members.
There are no marketing fees, commissions, royalties or other payments for Sabre’s hotel partners to offer a Veterans Advantage discount. Members book the Veterans Advantage rate online or by phone, and simply identify themselves at check-in with their VetRewards Card (show image of the card), the nationally-recognized military ID issued to each member.
Since February 2001, Veterans Advantage has successfully authenticated the military status of millions of military and veteran travelers as eligible for Veterans Advantage discounts without incidence of fraud or abuse. Starting with its first partner Amtrak, Veterans Advantage has built a coalition of over 150 partners, including United Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Greyhound, Avis Budget Group, and top hotels such as Choice Hotels International, Wyndham Worldwide, and most recently Extended Stay America.
After testing these travel benefits themselves, influential military travel bloggers have recently praised Veterans Advantage:
The Points Guy: According to Navy Lieutenant Richard Kerr, the high quality of Veterans Advantage's travel discounts combined with innovative travel search tools clearly sets it apart from other major membership programs, such as AAA or AARP. Kerr concludes, "When it comes to travel discounts offered by the membership programs, I'm most impressed with Veterans Advantage. The comprehensive search engine and negotiated discount codes make the site a good option for one-stop shopping with meaningful savings."
The Military Frequent Flyer: Brigadier General Glen Goddard learned about Veterans Advantage 5% discount on flights from Deals & Offers on the homepage of United.com. He then logged more than a year of Veterans Advantage discounts, saving nearly $1,000 on his travel and everyday purchases. “The saving potential is pretty large for the small investment in the yearly member fee,” he reports.
